Maidenhill launches ‘Love Your Neighbour’ Awards with £1,000 prize pot

The homebuilders behind the Maidenhill consortium are encouraging residents of the growing community to nominate their neighbours for two special accolades.

CALA Homes (West) and Taylor Wimpey West Scotland have jointly launched the Love Your Neighbour Awards in a bid to find Maidenhill’s Neighbour of the Year and Young Neighbour of the Year (for under-16s).

The awards aim to recognise the thriving community spirit within the development, which came to the fore during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nominees must live within the Maidenhill development, but nominations can come from anywhere in East Renfrewshire, or beyond – and the lucky winners and runners-up in each category will take a share of the £1,000 prize pot on offer.

Submissions can be made up until 30th November 2021.

Liana Canavan, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes (West), said: “The last 18 months or so have been a real challenge for everyone, but communities have really come together to help get one another through the difficulties we’ve all faced.

“Maidenhill is still a relatively new and growing neighbourhood, but the community spirit has really thrived during the course of the pandemic, and we know so many of our residents deserve recognition for the wonderful things they do each day. We’re looking forward to seeing the nominations come through.”

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “The residents of Maidenhill do so much for one another, and for the wider community, and we want to reward them for really doing their bit over the past 18 months.

“Whether it’s fundraising, doing unpaid care work, or simply popping in each week to an elderly neighbour to offer some company, these acts of kindness all have a positive impact. Nothing is too big or too small to be submitted for the Love Your Neighbour Awards.”

Nominations can be made at www.maidenhill.scot/love-your-neighbour, where you can also find more information and full T&Cs. Submissions will be accepted until the end of the day on Tuesday 30th November.
